| when you get right down to it, true wealth comes from the land. farmland is the most important piece of the production agriculture puzzle, without it, there is no base "feed" to value add the parasitic industries that nurse off the host farmland. if there`s commercial property, it`s basically a "roof and 4 walls" nothing special as a matter of fact there`s a glut of retail space and warehouses.
but look at "sportsball" if you want to see something out of whack, a guy that double dribbles & travels his way to dunk the ball is paid millions each year for that novelty talent. a guy with a wooden stick hits a ball 40% of the time is also paid millions and we spent hundreds or thousands to buy tickets and brave the traffic to watch millionaire grown men play kid games.
meanwhile, farmers on their own volition bid $200, $300...$550 to rent a new farm which is averaged among their cheaper farms to justify. many cases the rent check paid to the family gets handed right to the $12,000/month nursing home where the mother lives.
so, i don`t know, winners losers is a pretty gray area on who is really getting the short end of the stick. :-) | |
