| Thanks for responses. Actually several years ago I was farming over 700 acres with newer late 90s to early 2000s equipment. Had a couple bad years and wife had some major major medical stuff. Long story short, got in debt to far. I ended up selling 95% of the equipment and some land. Paid off every single debt and rented out majority of what I owned. Took a couple years off farming and slowly getting back into it with old equipment, finding the right deal.
Have been farming again for a couple years now and will take over what I rented out when the lease expires. I am having more fun farming now and truly enjoying it. No ag lender, no loans, out of my pocket. Not bragging. I love the old school equipment. Just very fortunate to have a second chance to farm again. I've been through the ringer, fought my way through it, heard all of the town gossip, but I paid all of my debts and didn't take the easy way out. | |
