West Central Illinois | No offense intended but I think you are misreading what Ron and Clay are saying. If you have to go really far and the ground is truly flat, your main could get very deep FURTHER from the field.
In any case, that is not the situation for the OP. To him I would say your yield maps look like tile would pay pretty fast. I would start with one field and see how it responds for a couple of years.
But knowing your soil types and drainage classification would be helpful. | |
