Correct
You have to use the green forward arrow/check mark to go all the way through the setup screens. If you don't, the settings will revert back to what they were to start with.
The green button circled in red is what you need to use. And you have to keep hitting that button until you are all the way through the setup screens to save the changes. The yellow button goes back one screen and the red button exits the setup menu. Neither of those buttons will save your changes.
