I mean seriously deep, as you basically will not have a saleable crop the first year unless you use oats as a nurse crop and have some cattle to feed that to or know someone who will buy it. And the hay market went on a serious reversal here in the last year. I've seen extremely nice hay of all types sell for $150/ton. Two weeks ago some good alfalfa grass mix round bales couldn't fetch a bid at a local auction. And 200 acres is a very time consuming amount of hay. |
