You're selling your farm 1 bale at a time if you don't account for all the nutrients leaving the farm with that bale. Penciling nutrient loss doesn't make it seem as profitable as mining your soils.
Do you worry about the weather with corn and beans? Well. 10x with hay crop.
What will you do with rained on hay?
Do you like planning your weekly schedule? Forget that most of the summer with hay.
It's the most stressful way to cash flow while being unprofitable imo
