| If a check is going to be returned it is most often back in 2 days (3 if needs to go to another Fed district). For example, you deposit Monday, it clears the other bank Tuesday and they return it non-suffiecient funds, we get debited Wednesday's cash letter. There are some circumstances where it could take longer by the returning bank, like fraud investigation.
Around "here" the community banks mostly all make funds available immediately. There are situations where we apply a hold but that is at our discretion. Usually it's when something doesn't seem right.
We don't get burned very often and very seldom from farm accounts. | |
