West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | Your experience with CPAP gaining/losing weight is the same as mine. I need a CPAP no matter how fat or skinny I am and should have been a CPAP user long before I started using a CPAP.
With that being typed, our number two son was lucky enough to be able to ditch his CPAP after he lost weight. Our son still snores a little after losing weight, but does not stop breathing after losing weight like he was when he was heavier.
I've tried chin straps that hold the mouth shut forcing a person to breath through their nose...they didn't work for me. I've tried off the shelve mouth guards...they didn't work for me. So barring surgery...that probably won't work for me, I've tried pretty much tried every other sleep athenea treatment, and I've resigned myself to the fact I'll be a CPAP user for the rest of my life...because CPAP works for me.
The invention of the Auto adjust CPAP for sure simplified life.
