Does the unit in your link need clear line of sight?
Yes, you need a clear path between them. In my case both units are on the tops of hills with a valley between, one side is also 110 feet above ground level on a grain leg tower.
The Ubiquiti 5AC equipment all runs in the 5 GHz range.
