I am going to suggest that you give a call to the NORTH DAKOTA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER to see if you can get this resolved and figure out what is payable and what is not.. THEY are supposed to be working for us to get fair treatment out of insurance if there are discrepancies. The way I understand it, they get elected and paid to regulate it.
They CAN NOT change the rules of the policy's you bought but can flush out the rule benders and give a just and fair settlement to the insurance buyers if they get off their hind ends and work with you and your requests.

I too had Cancer aid one time. My parents did too. They never did use it, I canceled mine years ago and always wondered if I should have kept it. I'm pretty sure that company changed hands a number of times. That insurance was sold to us by door-to-door salesman back then I seem to remember the sales boys looked like a couple of ambitious young fellows that were eager to sell and drove a older car that was dirty and a little beat up like they really were more like scrap iron buyers than insurance salesmen.
