I'm no dairyman but the two 'products' you identified are intimately intertwined. The pregnancy makes both the calf and the milk. The calf starts the milk; the milk at minimum milk pays for cow maintenance for the next calf
So I may learn something new today but I believe there is no way to answer your question, accurately, fully. I'm a naive schmuck that looks forward to this provocative setup. I hope someone can answer your question and explain my challenging perspective away.
