Another benefit of buying bulls with a high marbling epd is the related backfat. With their wooly winter coats and the genetic ability to put on a good layer of backfat (in addition to IMF) while just on good grass and hay, they stay warm through the cold weather. I love to see unmelted snow  on their backs.
