You said "thaws in spring or have a rain event".....is the grain sweating because it is cold making condensation? That would slow grain.
Also, could the distributor need a vent? On our lower transition where it goes into the leg we had problems with it flowing, when we opened the inspectiin door to watch it it would do just fine. Cut a hole and put a vent and it works fine now.
