I once welded a pull point on a ripper, the hole was wallowed out, first pass i dropped it in the ground, the pull point tore tight off where I welded, then again at other times I've had good luck welding pins, or holes that are wallowed out. It's your choice I guess depending on how hard it pulls I wouldn't do it again.
