Subject: another take on the problem

Caraway, AR

I had an 02 F250 w/PSD. Oil started dripping on my driveway. Casual observation looked like a rear main seal. Truck was under warranty so I took it to Ford dealer where he replaced rear main seal. Got the truck back in a couple of days.........still leaking. Took it back and they found it was the high pressure oil pump(the one that operates the fuel injection system) that was leaking and ruining out the valley and out the back of the engine.

Ford or navistar ate one of those warranty jobs because of mis diagnosis.

IMHO part of the problem is that Ford is trying to work on diesel engines with mechanics trained for gas engines. Why not do engine work at IH truck dealer?

Have a good night,

John
