I had pvc in my shop for 20 years and it worked fine but I decided it probably wasn't safe. I just got done replacing it with pex-al-pex. It is a pex pipe with an aluminum core. I don't remember the pressures but they are higher than regular pex. It is very easy to work with and has brass compression couplers. I know someone who has had it in their shop for several years and seems to work well. It is kind of hard to find it but I got mine from farmtek. You can check it out at www.farmtek.com.
