| I was asking this same question to one of the radiant heat sales reps with a booth at The Western Farm Show in KC this week. He said that the tubing will be staked completely at the bottom of the concrete and unless you're planning on needing to anchor something extremely large (clear through the thickness of the concrete -- in which case you'll probably need more anchorage than simple concrete anchors the depth of the concrete anyway) you'll 'probably' not have any problems at least if you're pouring around 6 inches of concrete, which most shops will have. But he also added if you're worried about it, measure and map where the tubing is staked down before pouring the floor and if you're out towards the middle, leave a few extra wide (18-24") runs in the vicinity and measure and map them carefully.
Or you 'could' decide where the anchors will be needed and make the floor 2 inches or more thicker, thus the tubing will be deeper and the stress of having something anchored to the floor will be less on the thicker concrete. | |
