Subject: Re: Standby generators

I live 15 miles from the hog farm. So a stand by generator would be nice in the summer. I have 17 feed lines and lights and a lot of fans to run. I may not need 60 KW but a 40 KW PTO is barely enough in the heat of summer. Especialy if everything starts a once. My power has gone out twice in less than a week. I still have no power at my rented barns.

The transfer switch was priced at $2400 for a 400 amp service a 200 amp switch is around $1400. I have seen State line generators priced for less but I think they may be a little cheaper also.
