Never heard anything around here about final drive failure. Ours had 4400 hrs with no problems. The counter shaft bearings did go out at about 4k hrs. The regular rear axle was a weak point tho. Welded a couple cracks now and then. Jacked the rear of the combine to get better grease flow around the axle tube when geasing. Never did leave us stranded.
