Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums. | Most new compressors will work with either kind. The difference is the oil. Get a new dryer too. All the talk about new hoses is hog wash. I usually do the A/C work on our tractors, and I'd do R134A if it were my machine. I think Freeze-12 has propane in it. I've been advised to stay away from products with propane in it. Its up to you. Last time I bought a 30lb cylinder of R134A it was $9/lb. Most tractors will hold 3 or 4 lbs. I have several tractors that are R12 systems topped off with 134A. They've worked like that for more than 5 years. I'm not recommending for or against it, or whether or not its legal, I'm just telling you that it works fine. |
