Pasco WA.
Direct seed in the fall following another crop. This pivot was planted with 2.6 lbs of Aurora timothy and 20 lbs of buckwheet. The buckwhet is just for a quick cover to protect from wind erosion. This was following a crop of potatos. We don't want any wheat anywhere near the timothy. Japan does not like wheat and the discounts can be pretty steep. Most of the timothy here is only harvested one time. Right after first cutting it is torn out and planted to sweet corn.
