| I don't know how far back the archives go but I was asking several questions about these a while back and "onion farmer" was the main informant. I also recieved an email from him with a few things about those tractors. It seems they had snap ring problems in the tranny and theres a shop that addresses that issue when/if they rebuild one. "onion" also has an opinion about the size of hydraulic pump that lubes the tranny. Was also told to always depress the clutch when shutting down the motor. Something about a nut backing off if you don't. The operators manual states this too so must be something to it. When I was looking most had more hrs. and were asking from 13's to 17 or 18's and several were sold when I called. Dealer around Hayes Kansas had a couple of 4840 about 3 weeks ago. Kuhns at Arthur Ill. usually advertises several. | |
