Subject: Autofarm Rightrac (Methods to output "real world" coordinates))

Apparently the Rightrac reports latitude, longitude and elevation that are repeatable (as long as the base station is placed at the same position). However, the reported positions make your $100 handheld look like a champion compared to the much more expensive system. The RighTrac can be off nearly 100 feet in elevation; and reportedly nearly as much in offsets of latitude and longitude.
If this is the trade-off necessary for a very user friendly system with a quick simple startup; then I understand completely. What is needed are the offsets for latitude, longitude and elevation and one would think that could be obtained by entering benchmark data from the position of the base station. If a fixed permanent base station were utililed then it might be a simple matter of entering the data once into the software.
Does a person really have to go the postprocessing route to get high accuracy positioning data? That was possible years ago with carrier phase CMC receivers and GrafNav software. It worked too; but certainly not in real time. Exclusive of the software; it only cost literally hundreds of dollars for the previous system.
What is possible with the RighTrac in terms of real time elevation accuracy as reported on the ATC? I don't see any place to enter the corrections for benchmark data.
