just a tish NE of central ND | From what I can see the only way is to Get "out of our country people" to do the chores cheapply because what they get here from big dairy's owners is still alot better than what they had at home. That's what leaves a profit in the dairy's pocket.Times have changed, the day of a farm with a few milk cows to suport the family and mom and dad never missing a milking in 50 years is gone. In my family, there was mom, dad and us two kids, one who left the farm at 18 to never return. I milked for 30 years beyond that with my parents and finally my wife and 3 school aged kids.....it was just short 49 1/2 years that we milked with someone with the family's last same name milking the cows .......and my folks had been out of the business for the last 18 years We never got someone else to milk , not even once. Man that was a long time! |
