Central Nebraska | On our Kinze 1050 we leave it in. On the old Kinze 840 we alway left it out. Thats a lot of weight to be hanging out there bouncing around. Last fall the yoke on the end of cyclinder broke, and the operator didn't realize it and cycled it a few times and screwed up the end of shaft. The cart was down for 3 days waiting for the new rod. Which worked out because we had cows to play with anyway. I think it broke from slamming it a little too hard when putting it out. On the 840, the linkage wasn't heavy enough to be able to fold it all the time. I prefer the auger out, just because I can look through the window into the tank, but I don't want to risk screwing something major up. | |
