NE Nebraska | As for the grain cart auger, we always fold it it. I don't like the idea of it bouncing around in the field or someone hitting something with it. The combine, if we are continuously unloading on the go and the field is open and no trees, I let the auger on the combine out. We work strips inside out to dump going both ways. When turning on headlands, the auger is always in the field ( not by the road or fence). If in doubt though, fold it in. the couple seconds to fold it each time is better than repairing the auger. | |
