| On our old cart we use to keep the auger in the transport position untill we had a new hire man that hit the fold hyd lever intead of the gate control a couple times while he was unloading & when he realized what he had done put the auger back into the unload pposition with the pto engaged and tore up the bottom auger & drive coupler. After that we left the auger up & unhooked the hyds when he ran the cart. FWIW, that fall was the last h worked for us.
This last fall we bought a new cart with 20" auger & the manual says to keep the auger in transport position except when unloading which is pretty much what we did.
Combine auger is always in. When it goes out the cart man knows the combine operator is ready to unload.
