roaming | I'm not sure it's accurate to call a PDF an image file. They can contain images, but also contain text that can be searched, copied, etc. For example, I just copied/pasted this text directly from a PDF file containing an operator's manual for a guidance system: "The operator creates a swath pattern to define the pre-
ferred pass pattern for a field or field section." I didn't retype it or do anything fancy; just highlighted the text in the PDF, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V.
I understand what you're saying, but I would put PDFs more in category all by themselves - not text for sure, but not really an image either. Maybe a hybrid?? Or some kind of proprietary portable document format... :-)
