Subject: RE: Is this Price Fixing?

SPARTA, WI
As a Dekalb Dealer I have had this explained to me as a way to keep local dealers from "stealing" current customers from other dealers. So, unless the Dekalb Rep is aware that there are other issues such as poor service, or general dissattisfaction from last years supplier the new "seller" will not recieve program benefits, Monsanto does not take away the sellers margin, just the associated program dollars. Also, if you have been purchasing from a couple different dealers, in the last couple years, you would be considered a "shared" customer and either dealer could sell to you without penalty. To take it a step further, if a dealer comes in and low balls another dealer to gain the new business he will keep his margin but the previous years dealer, which lost out on the sale, will get the associated program dollars from the sale.
