E.Central MN | Around here it seems that the big seed guys don't want to put their hybrids in the county test plots. I think the big companies think that it can hurt them more than it can help them. In some cases I've heard the people running the plots will go buy the seed just to get some varieties in to compare with. An issue that probably occurs now is how do you select from the many different traits across so many varieties? The number gets to be so large that comparisons are harder to make. | |
