Lewisburg, PA | Well thats the problem to convince my dairy that it is worth more. Last year we ajusted it to 15.00 before that it was 18.00 he thought that was to high. But last year we rised the haylage price to 23 from 20 a ton. He figures corn silage is worth less then what you can shell it for because there is no drying cost for me. I sub lease all of there ground so I try to not to push to hard ,but I feel I've been taken a little advantage of. So I'm asking around some and not just taking there word for it. I need educated a little on this corn silage pricing. I've kind of let it up to them to set the price. About O.M i haul all of the manure from the dairy so I get it back plus I cover crop. Good year to have to get rid of a lot corn silage but they won't want to pay 24 for it . I thinkI'll be lucky to get 20. If it is 50 bhl corn at 4.00 = 200/ac so they will want to only pay 150 for ten ton corn silage. I never look forward to pricing stuff. | |
