Subject: Re: How hard is it to spray dry AMS?

Mid Michigan
So far the consensus on here is about 50-50 that the granulated works great and the other half says it sucks and it plugs up their nozzles and screens. We have had bad results with any granulated spray mix so we only use stuff in liquid for now. I think the big picture everybody is missing is that he did get a Premium product to mix with the spray and we use it sometimes too. It is called Engage and it does a fine job when mixed with glyphosate. The Engage product contains surfactants and the strait ams does not. So it was not like he is getting nothing for his extra money. They are using a premium product to provide him with the best they have. I am sure they would have given him the cheap stuff if he had asked for it. Burning down weeds is a science and it doesn't always work very good if you cheap out on everything. That is why there is dozens of questions a week on here on spraying chemicals. Guys will dump 3 quarts an acre of glyphosate in a sprayer to the acre and not think they are doing something wrong but they think its a crime to add the surfactants that make the spray 3 times as effective using 1 quart to the acre. Kind of like painting without using hardner, do it three times as often and it still looks like sh@t!
