How about a new cordless drill?

Or you rig up a corded drill and run off the vehicle's power.

I kind of always wonder when I see people promoting push in hand sampling tools. It must rain a lot more in other parts of the country. Dry clay will significantly lift a pickup. Many years it is easier to push a probe through frozen soil than it is to push through dry clay.

Anyway, your basic choice is get more power for the drill. Either a new one. I know my panasonic does quite a few when the battery is a good one. Get electricity, or you rig up a small gas motor which is would think is more trouble than worth it.

Or you rig up hydraulics on a vehicle. If you go the hydraulics route remember you need at least 30 inches of stroke to do 24 inch samples.
