Subject: Amisorb

Coldwater, Michigan
We tested Amisorb for 2 years in at least 8-9 different plots at 2 different rates each year. With 3 replications per year, that gave us around 24-25 replications total. At end of 2 years we saw no consistent, significant yield gain. May have gotten it one year in a location, wasn't repeatable the 2nd year. Significance in our testing program is also affected by what the average of the testing was in the given year.

If for instance, the "Avail" tests good this year, it tells us we need to expand the base (number of tests) for next year. In a second year of testing, if it falls on it's face, we're done with it. Of course, if it fails the first year, it may never see our plots a second time either.

One of the things that has screwed up the wonder products in these plots is that we are testing against a seed placed product that does a heck of a job by itself. Our 6-24-6 has been primed with a heck of a micro package, and in many cases any yield gain we do see from the wonder products, doesn't pay for itself. If you didn't have our package already in there, then the yield gain might become significant.

Actually, I'm not quite that ignorant! We do often test against a competitor's product, then add the wonder product to the competitors product to see if it changes the performance compared to testing the same thing with our product. We can in many cases tell you how to enhance a competitor's product to get a paying response. Of course, why would we want to do that? Our testing is designed to identify what enhances yield from a fertility standpoint, and to use that in "OUR" products.
