Freeburg, IL | At least in Illinois, the original round of scoring done by the University of IL showed lower levels of feeding this year. Some rootdigs that we did on the fringe of the "devastation zone" showed very little feeding in untreated fields and plots. This was in Madison county, IL, which is southwestern IL near St. Louis. There is essentially no granular insecticides being used in this area and south.
The insecticides and rootworm genes seem to have done a great job from where I've looked along I80 down to I64 in IL. The corns are holding up pretty well. | |
