I certainly not a corn expert, but with regards to temperature, I agree with the other posts.

Looking back, the best corn yields we get is when it is relatively cool when tasseling. A couple of years ago, it rained almost every other day, but was very hot (temps in the 90's to 100's). The corn did not lack for moisture at all. However, we were really disappointed in yields. They were good but not great (120-130 bushels).

Seems that cooler weather during tasselling is the key to yields in my area.
