Malheur County Oregon | I may be starting to believe Al Gore and his global warming theory. This last month was the hottest on record here with 14 days of 100 degrees or more breaking last years record of 13 days of 100 degree plus.
The last measurable rain was June 10th and we have only had 4.75" for the whole year. Fortunately we have plenty of water for the irrigation season although the local reservoirs are going to be drained by the end of the year. So no carry over into the winter.
Lots of range fires out west also. The biggest between NV Dave and here burnt 650,000 acres before they got it contained. There have been quite a few days where things get smoked up pretty well.
The photos I shot this evening while checking water. Some of the dirt roads are getting so rough and rutted an potholed up that about 5-10 mph is all you dare drive without beating the pickup apart. The dust cloud I made by driving 10mph.
