| I was on the opposite end several years ago. Farmer had sold 25,000 bu of corn to the local elevator but couldn't filll the contract. Elevator had in turn contracted it to a chicken farm in GA and needed corn to fill their contract. Elevator owner knew I had corn in my bins & came to me & asked if I would be interested in filling the contract. The price was about 50ยข/bu above the current market price at that time so bet I jumped at the chance.
Side benifit was that they were hauling watermelons back so the drivers were always bringing us melons | |
