| Story was someone used some of them beetles. He had a lame horse insured for 10 big ones and a good way to collect on the worthless animal is for it to die. Mixed the beetles in with the grain , all it did was grease the digestive tract a little. even tied the lightning rod ground to the horse during a thunderstorm. didn't work either. Finally something must have worked. Insurance companies are real suspicious of high dollar horses dying so you got to make sure it looks like a natural death, Drugs and bullets holes are not considered natural or acts of god.
I think with all the horses in america ,many are insured quite high, there would be a demand for alfalfa hay that had blister beetles crushed in it.
Even uninsured horses when they need put to sleep the vet gets like $100, a bale of such hay would be cheaper. | |
