Subject: Re: Fungicides???...x-ways?

Effingham, IL

There was no need for clarification -- you were clear as a bell. Around here, I know of a few fields where the aerial applicator flew an X pattern over the field. This is done with the hope that it will show up on the yield monitor.

And no, I never said "not much works" around here. I've worked with fungicides for many years and in my experience, they rarely provide a return on investment. University research backs me up on this point. Since you are so sold on the concept, perhaps you could point me to some independent research here in the Midwest that confirms that I am in fact wrong.

Also, since you seem to know so much about yield maps, perhaps you could post some examples of some fields were you can visibly show a <10 bu. difference in corn yield from a trial that you have run in the past. I am always willing to learn about new ways of doing things.
