USA | I would disagree with land cost being the same wether owned or rented. How can a person that owns the land have as much land cost as one that rents? Own 85% of the ground we farm, land was bought from $35 to $2200 per acre.
I will use a $200 per acre land charge against crops in 08, which is less than what the ground would rent far in this area. Might have a hard time making things work, if I plugged in a $300 rent that some are willing to pay.
