Ed, Why does anything have to come down?? Most of us sold too much of the '07 and '08 crop too cheap. There is no hedge pressure in the middle of harvest or at least it appears so. The world had plenty of money and no grain so they are buyers. La Nina is on the rise and the feds cut the rate which is inflationary. The crop is good but not good enough. Nobody is long this market. Everyone I listen to are so bearish and afraid of these prices going lower that they are selling too much again out in front of them. A problem next year with production would make the corn market go up like wheat is doing right now. Input cost skyrocketing and everyone comparing todays prices to what they have known for the last 20 years. This is a different time I think than we have ever seen so be cautious about how much you sell. I do agree that price at some point will come down I just dont think that time is now.
