| Scott,
You're sure right. A guy should not expect to sell all his beans at 12.00/bu and I'd say he should have most sold in the 9-10 dollar area--where we are right now !
12 may happen, may not. Same for 14 !!!!!!!!
As we all know 7-8 on up is very good--let alone 10 or 12 dollar per bu beans.
It is true. A guy can shoot for 12 and watch market drop to 7-8--or lower-- before selling--hoping market will come back. Happens often !
"Enough is enough" also applies in a positive sense !
Related story: Have an uncle who bought a lot of shares of Sun Microsystems stock. He bought it in the 4-5 dollar/share area. He watched it go to over 60 dollars a share and told me about then he could retire on that one stock alone. He sold none of it and watched it go back to his buy price. Believe he's still sitting on it. Again: Hoping price will "come back" is an old, old story and has happened to many.
You often hear when someone does well with the markets but you seldom if ever hear when they did poorly.
My best advice is: Don't let these great bean prices pass you by !
