I tried it several years ago, got a good stand of wheat in the old wheat straw. Septoria did it in in the Spring, made 15 bu. That was before fungicides so this year we are trying a small plot and will plan to spray on a fungicide in the Spring. One tool we never utilized before no till was FIRE. We use it once in a while now and maybe it would work in your situation to rid the land of the diseased straw. I usually hate to burn anything but this years weather has made us do many things we normally would not do.
