Subject: Cowpea seed

What are you guys using for a source for forage cowpea seed. Was looking at putting some into some wheat stubble this past summer for hay, but the seed costs seemed quite prohibitive. Looking around on the internet I found seed from $30 - $70 for a 50lb. bag. Iron & Clay seemed to be the most popular variety, seems this is also a coveted crop for the yuppies putting in food plots for their deer, hence the high prices. $30 would seem to be on the high end of what I'd be willing to pay. I was wondering if there are any farmer friendly sources for seed to use as a double crop forage planting. Thanks.

Eddie
