I have seeded it by hand. When I mixed it with oats and tried to run it throuogh a JD FBB drill the awns hung up and it didn't drill. So I take a handfull and toss it or let a gentle breeze spread it. Works good for field borders that way, I'd not want to do many acres though.

I've seen it mowed and baled once for horses, the last ones I dealt with preferred to starve their horses with restricted pure alfalfa. I got out of the hay business, too expensive.
