RU and Liberty are both systemic products that must be applied to above ground plant tissue in order to have effectiveness (that's why they have no residual control). Most post applied chemistry is either contact or systemic and is targeted towards leaf tissue for plant adsorption. Most soil applied chemicals are also systemic, but can be adsorbed through the roots and are not quickly broken down by soil microbes.

I don't have much experienve with Coron, but it has been used a far amount here in central Iowa this year. It was positioned heavily in this area as a replacement for side-dress liquid N. the concept sounds good, we will see if it works. Coron is a foliar product as you stated.
