Subject: RE: Keeping field edges clean

We use flood tips on 30". When spraying the field border, we replace the last flood with an oversized flood (replace a 2.5 with a 3.5) and 15" over we have an oversized (30%) 'fencerow' nozzle that we turn on.
This is using an pre-emerge with burndown or an early post emerge that has residual. We can split a corn/soy field and not damage either first rows. In fields with fencerows/road ditches, we try to keep the grass --- once the sod is killed -- the weeds take off. Much easier to leave the sod and mow every couple years to keep the trees out.
