I would hope the base itself is mounted in a stable manner and the cable is for the radio. It is reccomended that the excess cable is bowtied as suggested.
Other possible causes:
Power supply
Power cables and connectors
Something blocking view of satellites or radio transmission
Birds landing on GPS base (Unlikely, but has happened more than once)
RTK TOWER
