northwest tennessee | I am small too and have cow calf but will be watching. This oil deal is going to change things but not sure how yet. I did not cut my last cutting of hay this year and will graze it. Just could not see cutting raking baling moving and then moving to feed when it would be a so so cutting at best. I think alot of this kind of thing for me will have to change. I was just talking to a friend and road diesel is 3.29 here and he buys cattle and ships them. He said where you used to figure about 5.00 a hundred for expenses it was getting closer to 10.00. It is starting to hurt the cattle prices with everything going up. I am going to let my tractor stay in the barn if it does not make alot of sense to run it. Fertilizer is going to be unreal too. It already is. | |
